A diamond examination establishes whether the stone is natural, laboratory-grown or an imitation and assesses its characteristics: weight, colour, clarity and cut. An HRD Antwerp accredited expert performs the analysis with professional gemmological instruments and provides a written report.
Buying a diamond is an important emotional and financial investment. Imitations and synthetic stones are increasingly difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. Professional examination confirms what you have bought or are considering buying.
What a diamond examination includes
- Establishing the nature of the stone: natural diamond, laboratory-grown diamond or an imitation such as moissanite, cubic zirconia or white sapphire;
- Assessing the 4Cs: carat weight, colour, clarity and cut;
- Identifying possible treatments to improve colour or clarity;
- Checking correspondence with an existing certificate (HRD, GIA or IGI), where available.
How it works
The examination takes place in your presence, by appointment, using professional gemmological instruments. You receive a clear report documenting the findings.
